New Projects

Homeschooling is starting now. I don’t see any way around it, because of the pandemic that’s still sweeping the nation. We are fortunate enough to be able to do this. Amanda is highly prepared, and I feel like as soon as the kids are getting forced back to school. All it’s going to take is one kid getting sick before public schools start closing and opening like rolling blackouts. What it does is prompt me again to get back into the writing again. I sit right in the middle of classroom central, and I can’t play video games while they are in session, so it’s a perfect time to kick myself back into gear and get some writing work done.

I’ll be getting some blogging done, like this, and reactivating that kind of thing.

I’ve got an idea for a podcast that I want to write. I’ve done a couple of rough starts on this, but I think that I need to revisit it and try another angle. I don’t like the way it’s going at the moment. I think I started too late in the story I want to tell, I don’t think each episode is long enough. Its just time to start again. No problem.

I’ve also got an idea for a kid’s adventure series that I want to explore. I don’t know why I want to do this. Its either a completely brilliant idea, or a fever dream full of nonsense that came out of sleepless night. It’s one or the other. I’m not sure. So I need to explore it.

I’m also close to the end on one novel, that’s partly inspired by some of my adventures while I was having some considerable trouble in the hospital. I’m working there to finish the final edit and I’m planning to have my cover done for me. Thinking of going through Fiverr for this.

All at the same time, I’ve moved my keyboard, trying to figure out how to use it better. Because my thumb doesn’t want to get out of the way yet, I’m still using a stylus to type, like its an extended index finger, though I can sort of hold it between my fingers now rather than using the brace where I had it attached before. It’s up at a new angle for me, so it makes me wonder how far I can go at a time before I get tired. I think I’m going to have to consider breaking up my day so I don’t just kill my arm. I’ll know more later after I’ve done some of this with my new setup I suppose.

What it is doing (the school year) is kicking my butt, getting me off Magic the Gathering Arena, and back to typing stories again.
